Back in 2024, when I found out that ClarinetFest® 2026 would be in Korea, I had an idea. Many artists would already be in Asia, so why not invite them to Thailand before heading to another festival in the region?
I knew I couldn’t do it alone. Between living in China and preparing for my wedding, I needed a partner in Thailand. Wantana Tancharoenpol was the first person I thought of. He had already built Learn with the Legends and a wonderful clarinet community through C.U. Clarinet Ensemble, and I knew we’d work well together.
Somewhere along the way, the original festival idea became Clarinethology as part of Learn with the Legends.
I’m really happy that my teacher, Guy Yehuda, along with Yos Vaneesorn, Tran Khanh Quang from Vietnam, and many wonderful artists from Thailand will be joining us. As the idea came together, I also reached out to Jessica Harrie at the International Clarinet Association about the possibility of ICA supporting and promoting Clarinethology.
I hope Clarinethology gives people another reason to meet, learn, share music, and reconnect through the clarinet.
Whether you’re from Thailand, elsewhere in the region, or beyond, we’d love to welcome you.
